Open to offers! Man Utd willing to sell unwanted stars Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane as part of January clear-out
Manchester United are open to bids for a number of experienced players, including Raphael Varane and Casemiro in January.
The Red Devils are willing to listen to offers for experienced duo Varane and Casemiro as well as Jadon Sancho, according to The Independent. Sancho has been exiled by the club after falling out with Erik ten Hag, while Varane has lost his place in the starting XI. Ten Hag also wants a midfielder with a different profile to Casemiro. The manager’s intention to trim his squad comes ahead of the January window and amid reports he has lost the support of certain players in the dressing room.
At United, the perception is that Ten Hag is still juggling the lingering effects of several past managers and that the necessity for a clear-out has been an ongoing issue. Although Ten Hag is grateful that Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay have pushed their way into the team and are now significantly off the Dutchman’s transfer list, both players were previously up for sale and almost went in the summer.
United have lost six of 14 league games this season, but they have yet to draw a match. There isn’t a single side in the top 10 that has lost as many games as the Red Devils; Crystal Palace, in 12th position, are the next-highest team to have lost as many games.
Manchester United will only look to add to their squad once they have made some sales. Dortmund and Juventus have been linked with Sancho, while Varane has attracted interest from Bayern Munich and clubs in Saudi Arabia.
