Chelsea is willing to break the bank AGAIN for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in January as Blues look to splash more cash despite FFP concerns

Chelsea could reportedly break their bank again for Victor Osimhen in January despite concerns over breaching FFP regulations.

  • Chelsea want more firepower in attack
  • Could break the bank again for Osimhen
  • Napoli are confident of holding on to the striker

According to Football Transfers, Todd Boehly remains confident enough to land Osimhen during the upcoming January transfer window to boost a misfiring Chelsea attack. Despite the uncertainty around Financial Fair Play (FFP) restrictions, Chelsea is prepared to break their transfer record for Osimhen, emphasizing their commitment to landing the Nigerian international.

Osimhen has been attracting interest from Arsenal as well, but it is unlikely that the Gunners will match the huge demands of the reigning Serie A champions. In fact, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is optimistic about Osimhen’s future at Naples and remains confident that the player will be signing a new deal, despite the TikTok scandal that soured his relationship with the club.

With Osimhen’s contract expiring in 2025, Napoli faces a ticking clock. If a new contract isn’t signed before the summer, the club may be compelled to sell him at a reduced price so that they don’t lose him for free in 2025.

Chelsea, closely monitoring the situation, is even considering selling Armando Broja to fund Osimhen’s £100 million ($126m) price tag. The Nigerian striker scored 26 league goals to fire Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years last season and also made history by becoming the first African player to win the Serie A Golden Boot. He is in action against Juventus on Friday night in Serie A.
