Bayern Munich 5-1 Eintracht Frankfurt: Thomas Tuchel’s team suffers a humiliating Bundesliga loss.

Bayern Munich’s humiliating 5-1 loss against Eintracht Frankfurt prevented them from taking the lead in the Bundesliga.

With their last Champions League group stage match against Manchester United on Tuesday, Thomas Tuchel’s six-game league winning streak came to an abrupt stop.

Hugo Larsson, Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe, and Omar Marmoush all scored expertly to put Frankfurt up three goals in less than 36 minutes as they took advantage of the stunned Bayern defense.

Before halftime, Joshua Kimmich gave the visitors a point back, but it was insufficient to spur them on to a comeback as Dina Ebimbe gave the hosts a three-goal lead five minutes into the second half.

With Harry Kane unable to add to his 18 Bundesliga goals, Bayern, who trail leaders Bayer Leverkusen by three points, were set to suffer their second league loss of the year when Ansgar Knauff scored a fifth goal within an hour.

How Bayern was destroyed by Frankfurt

In the 12th minute, Marmoush ignited the scoring, volleying in on the rebound after Bayern’s Noussair Mazraoui miskicked and Fares Chaibi struck the crossbar.

After a fantastic solo run, Dina Ebimbe increased their lead by putting the ball under Manuel Neuer. Hugo Larsson then sent the home team into a state of bliss by scoring a third goal, taking advantage of Kimmich’s error.

Just before the half, Kimmich made apologies with a bending shot that slammed into the upper right corner from outside the area.

But just after the break, Dina Ebimbe scored his second goal of the afternoon, a brilliant finish at the conclusion of another counterattack, crushing any dreams of a comeback.

On the hour, Knauff scored to make it 5-1; the VAR gave him credit for the goal after he was first called offside.

With 32 points, Bayern maintain their second-place standings, while leaders Bayer Leverkusen, with 35, will visit third-place VfB Stuttgart, with 30 points, on Sunday.

WHATS NEXT FOR BAYERN?

On Sunday, December 17, Bayern will play Stuttgart in the Bundesliga. Start time is 6:30 p.m.
