JUST IN: In a bold assertion that is sure to draw attention, Sam Warburton speculates on RG Snyman’s future club.

Sam Warburton, the former captain of Wales and the British & Irish Lions, has urged Leinster to recruit Springboks second-row player RG Snyman and thinks the player should think about moving to the province.

In an effort to limit the number of non-Irish players on the team, Snyman’s current team, Munster, said they would not be extending him a new contract.

The fact that fellow lock Jean Kleyn changed his nationality to South Africa in 2019 after playing for Ireland put further strain on this issue.

Munster decides to keep Kleyn on staff.

The former Ireland international, who just inked a new deal with the Limerick-based team, was ultimately retained by Munster.

When it was first reported in the French media that Snyman was headed to Bath, where he would meet up with the Premiership team’s director of rugby, Johann van Graan, who had trained him during his time as a Bull, there was a mad dash for his signing.

Additionally, a rumor in the South African tabloid Rapport suggested that the Stormers are considering hiring Snyman.

Leinster’s new senior coach, former Bok coach Jacques Nienaber, is expected to have a gradual impact, according to Warburton, who also suggested that they attempt to sign a player of Snyman’s caliber.

Regarding Nienaber, Warburton told RugbyPass that “[Leinster] fans won’t see a drastic change.” “Developing a deep understanding of your training drills, regimen, and desired messages requires time.”

“In the initial weeks, you might notice a five to ten percent difference, but you’ll probably need to give it some time to observe any significant changes. Take a look at Johann van Graan at Bath; it took him a full year. You are not going to create the wheel at this time, in my opinion.

“You’re just going to make a few minor adjustments to fit into some of the existing systems that are in place. However, I believe Leinster has to inject some forward sheer force. That’s presumably what Leinster is lacking in the Champions Cup.

Snyman ‘would be an amazing recruitment’

“Adding someone of that caliber to their pack, such as an RG Snyman who appears to be headed to Bath, would be an incredible recruiting for someone like Leinster.”

“We’ll observe. You don’t want to hinder the growth of the younger players, but you think that the Leinster supporters would benefit from having a few players in that pack who can provide support.
