Warriors: Draymond Green’s emotional state following ejection for striking Jusuf Nurkic

Warriors reporter reveals what Draymond Green said after getting ejected.

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green found himself in the spotlight for negative reasons once again, having swung and struck Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic during their 119-116 loss on Tuesday night. Green’s actions led to his ejection from the game after being assessed a flagrant foul penalty 2.

Despite the backlash from NBA fans, including those supporting the Warriors, Green reportedly remained in a “calm mood,” as disclosed by Anthony Slater of The Athletic during a segment on 95.7 The Game.

“He was in a pretty calm mood and was like, ‘Let’s do a press conference.,’” said the Warriors beat reporter. “And I think he previewed what his excuse to the league will be which is he was trying to sell a foul.”

Green spoke to reporters after the game and explained why he did what he did. He even apologized to Nurkic for his actions.

“Jusuf Nurkic was pulling my hip and I was swinging away to sell the call and made contact with him,” Draymond Green said. “As you know, I’m not one to apologize for things I meant to do, but I do apologize to Jusuf. I didn’t intend to hit him.”

Whether NBA fans choose to accept that explanation from the seasoned Warriors player is left to their judgment. However, the situation is becoming increasingly problematic.

Green had previously faced a five-game suspension from the league just last month for an altercation where he put Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a chokehold. Many are anticipating the NBA to impose yet another multi-game penalty on the 33-year-old, with ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith predicting a suspension of at least 10 games for the Warriors forward.
