The team will undergo a slight adjustment to its name starting from the upcoming season, following the establishment of an exclusive title sponsorship deal with an existing partner
Aston Martin is set to undergo a name change for the 2024 Formula 1 season following an exclusive agreement with its current sponsor, Aramco.
Previously known as the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant F1 Team, the name “Cognizant” will be dropped for the upcoming season. Starting January 1st, 2024, the team will officially be named the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team.
Aramco, the Saudi Arabian oil company, became a sponsor of the team ahead of the 2022 season and will now expand its role as the exclusive title sponsor. Lawrence Stroll, the team owner, expressed pride in strengthening the partnership with Aramco and emphasized their shared ambitions. The oil company will play a significant role in Aston Martin’s Formula One journey, contributing to key initiatives, including the development of advanced fuels for the 2026 season when the team begins its Honda works power unit partnership.
In the 2023 season, Aston Martin finished in fifth place with 280 points, securing eight podiums, with Fernando Alonso claiming fourth in the Drivers’ Championship and Lance Stroll finishing 10th.
