Naomi Osaka expresses gratitude to the public for their “patience” ahead of Tennis return

As she gets ready to make her court comeback, Naomi Osaka is thinking back on her “tennis journey” and the support she has received from her supporters.

The four-time Grand Slam singles champion thanked her supporters in an Instagram statement on Friday.

She said, “I know we’ve had some truly incredible times together, and I also know that there have been some things I wish I had handled differently.” In spite of everything, I want to thank you for your patience and for letting me mature at my own pace. I’m really appreciative of you all, but I’m not sure what I did to deserve you.

“I’m very excited to see you guys next year, and I’m very honored to be going on chapter 2 of this tennis journey together,” she said.

Osaka last participated in a competition in September of 2022. In July, she and her partner, rapper Cordae, welcomed a daughter, Shai. The Brisbane International competition in Australia, which takes place from December 31 to January 7, is where she is expected to make her return.

The tennis player recently talked about becoming a mother in an InStyle cover story that was released on Thursday.

She claimed that she had worried about whether she would be a good enough mother during the first few weeks of motherhood, but that she eventually came to the conclusion that mothers are “superheroes.”

She went on, “But they’re also people,” and then she thought back to the sacrifices her own mother had made for her and her sister.
