Ferrari’s 2024 Formula 1 vehicle is anticipated to differ significantly from the challenger this year, as Frederic Vasseur has revealed that nearly every part of the vehicle is brand-new.
Ferrari’s team principal, Frederic Vasseur, has stated that “95 percent” of the parts of the company’s 2024 Formula 1 car will be new when it launches on February 13.
This year, the Italian team had a challenging season, finishing third in the Constructors’ Championship.
Prior to competitor Red Bull dominating the year and winning 21 of the 22 races, it started the season hoping to challenge for the title.
At the Singapore Grand Prix, Ferrari’s hopes of sweeping the podium were dashed when Carlos Sainz clinched the only win for the year.
Ferrari was clearly unable to contend against Red Bull across the season. Speaking to the media, Vasseur backed himself after his first year at the helm of the squad.
“I joined quite late, so it was quite a challenge a year ago,” he remarked. There was a massive flood of information to process, comprehend, and learn in just a few weeks.
“But now I think it’s a much more comfortable situation. I know almost everybody in the company, the system, I have a better understanding of this. I think I’m doing a good job, a better job than last year, let’s say.
“We need to keep the momentum and I think that even if the last part of the season went pretty well. It’s never enough and we don’t have to stop this.”
