Former Grand Prix winner asserts Verstappen is the ‘greatest F1 driver of all time.’

A previous Formula 1 race victor has commended Max Verstappen’s commitment to motorsport and dubbed him the ‘finest racing driver in history.’

Verstappen is well on his way to securing a place as an F1 legend, clinching three consecutive world championships and dominating the 2023 season with an exceptional 19 victories. However, Gerhard Berger asserts that Verstappen has already surpassed his predecessors in motorsport, applauding the Dutchman’s unwavering dedication to racing. In an interview with the Austrian publication Krone, the 10-time grand prix winner expressed, “He wholeheartedly lives for his sport, for Formula 1. That level of passion is why, in my opinion, he stands as the greatest racing driver in the history of the world.”

Reminiscent of Senna and Schumacher.

When asked if Verstappen would ease off after a nearly flawless season, the former McLaren and Ferrari driver, who was once Ayrton Senna’s teammate at McLaren, left no doubt about how the world champion would approach the winter break.

“Never in my life! Max is a racing driver who always gives 120 percent,” he emphasized.

“Just like Senna or [Michael] Schumacher used to be, or [Lewis] Hamilton is now. I’m convinced that Max is already back in the simulator, playing with all his racing cars.”
