Tsonga says: “Djokovic wanted to be Federer or Nadal, only today….

Former tennis player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga discussed the career of Serbian champion Novak Djokovic, emphasizing the player’s personality. The Frenchman claimed that Djokovic would have denied his own ego and personality in order to try to emulate Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer early in his career.

But now, according to Tsonga once more, we are able to witness the 24-time Slam champion’s actual nature.
Given that he is a Serb, he sought to shed his warrior persona. since he went through challenging times when he was a child.

Thus, he is a warrior; he ought to have known it from the beginning. For that, I believe he would have been adored. Nole didn’t want to be himself at one point, in my opinion. Perhaps he should have stayed true to himself instead of trying to become the next Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer.

I believe he is his true self now. He doesn’t take actions for praise. He acts in the manner that he believes is appropriate for the task at hand. I believe this is the reason it is well-liked by so many individuals. Since he’s entirely honest now,” the Frenchman said.

But how does Djokovic feel about Nadal and Federer these days?

Tsonga: "Djokovic wanted to be Federer or Nadal, only today he's himself"

During an extensive interview on CBS News’s 60 Minutes show, Djokovic discussed his friendships with Federer and Nadal. “It goes without saying that our relationships haven’t been great off the field.

Since we’re rivals and it’s hard to be close to your opponent, we’re not pals. We have shared the stage for a long time, and I believe there has always been the highest respect, at least on my part, for them. However, some things you disclose about your life or how you feel could be used against you. I wish we were closer so we could have conversations and time to ourselves one day. It would be just amazing.”
