Why Max Verstappen Isn’t Interested in the Brad Pitt Formula One Film

Production has commenced on the untitled Formula 1 movie featuring Brad Pitt, with Joseph Kosinski serving as the director.

Three-time Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen reveals his limited interest in the upcoming Formula 1 feature film currently in production. Despite the Hollywood strike causing delays, the film, featuring Brad Pitt and associated with Lewis Hamilton‘s Dawn Apollo Films, remains on track for a 2025 release.

Verstappen, like his F1 counterparts, encountered Brad Pitt during the 2023 season, where the actor filmed scenes at various Grand Prix locations. Verstappen appreciates Pitt’s acting talent but expresses disinterest in watching a film about his own sport, emphasizing the often dramatized and fictional nature of such productions.

“This film is of course a made-up story and everything is always over-dramatized.”

Certainly, Verstappen and his fellow Formula 1 personalities engage in a form of performance in the dramatized F1 documentary series Drive To Survive, alongside participating in orchestrated moments for various F1 show elements and media engagements.

Verstappen distinguishes this from genuine acting, asserting that it is more a matter of navigating the dynamics of the Formula 1 environment. While he acknowledges playing along occasionally, he expresses a preference for authenticity. Despite the necessity of engaging in the political aspects of Formula 1 and other sports, Verstappen emphasizes that, in general, he remains true to himself and does not consider himself an actor.
