In a funny revelation, Serena Williams said that she and Venus Williams tried their best to dry the court for practice, but that it only took five minutes for the rain to return. It appears that Serena and her sister Venus had plans to work out together this week. Serena ended her incredible career as a professional tennis player after the 2022 US Open.

The Williams sisters had to dry the court and get everything ready for a hitting practice because it was pouring rain when they arrived at the court. However, the rain returned and the court became saturated once more. Serena shared the final product’s appearance on TikTok.

Serena Williams has retired, but Venus is actively involved in sports.

Venus, 43, is still competing, although her 2023 season was extremely difficult and demanding.

Venus had a leg injury early in her Wimbledon first-round match against Elina Svitolina in 2023, following her battle with a hamstring issue in the first part of the year. Venus tried her hardest to compete at Flushing Meadows because she didn’t want to miss the US Open.

Venus was able to compete in the US Open, however she lost to Greet Minnen 6-1, 6-1 in the opening round. Venus plans to be ready for March, but she hasn’t performed since and won’t be performing in Australia. “I attended Wimbledon, where I regrettably slipped during the third game and suffered serious injuries.

My knee was pretty injured for the entire summer, and I had a lot of trouble with it. I managed to attend the US Open, which I didn’t want to miss, but after taking so much time off following Wimbledon, it was clearly not my greatest performance. I therefore made the decision to stop playing for the remainder of the year in order to give my knee time to recover.

My range of motion was limited by the swelling I was experiencing. When your knee swells, you get weaker and your muscles stop working. Thus, you lose muscle since you are unable to workout and your muscles are not activating.

There is a complete cycle. I experienced all of this during the summer. My injury was of the kind where I lost range of motion, couldn’t get the swelling to go down, and all of this. However, I was handling everything, so I made the decision to stop.

What was really intriguing was that I felt better when I simply sat down. I got up after the US Open, maybe four weeks later. It was a Sunday, and when I woke up, I remember thinking, “Oh my God! I’m not experiencing any pain. Venus stated in her most recent YouTube video.
