This defeat marks their fourth in a row and the fifth in the last six games, following their victory in the NBA’s inaugural in-season tournament in Las Vegas. Expressing the team’s sense of urgency, Davis went on record stating that the upcoming game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday is a “must-win.” This declaration follows Davis being candid with reporters less than 24 hours after the Lakers fell to the Chicago Bulls.
Addressing reporters in the locker room on Wednesday night, Anthony Davis emphasized the absence of any impending respite or reinforcements for the Lakers. He stressed the need for the team to rally from within the existing roster, acknowledging the challenges they face.
Despite Davis’s individual effort in the loss against the Timberwolves, where he posted 31 points and eight rebounds on 11-of-20 shooting, the Lakers were outmatched by the Timberwolves’ formidable lineup, with all five starters reaching double figures.
The road ahead remains challenging for the Lakers, as they conclude their current road trip against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday and face the Boston Celtics at home on Christmas Day.
