Daniil Medvedev, along with emerging tennis talents Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, aims to challenge the seemingly unbeatable Novak Djokovic in 2024. In an interview with The National News, the Russian player expressed his determination to explore his limits and maintain a high level of professionalism on the court.
“Everyone will have a different motivation for different reasons. I think I’ve changed. I’m no longer 23 and I’m not looking for my first big title. I hope I can last this phase of my career for a long time. I’m motivated and I want to continue exploring my limits to overcome them”.
Medvedev acknowledged the ever-present challenge of Djokovic and emphasized the unpredictable nature of each tennis season. Despite facing difficulties in the previous year, Medvedev aims to be part of the group of players striving to halt Djokovic’s dominance. Looking ahead to 2024, Medvedev is focused on competing for prestigious titles after a strong rebound in the latter part of the 2023 season, which included victories in Rotterdam and Dubai.
