In the first set, the 2021 US Open champion impressed observers, securing a 6-3 victory. However, the second set presented challenges, with Raducanu facing an early 0-3 deficit. Despite making a comeback, Ruse won the set 6-4.

The third set showcased Raducanu’s resilience as she broke her opponent’s serve twice, establishing a 5-2 lead. Although facing challenges, including missed match points, Raducanu ultimately prevailed, winning the match 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 and marking a successful start to her 2024 season.
