Arina Rodionova, the Australian tennis player, delivered a humorous reaction following her victory in a closely contested match against America’s Sofia Kenin in Brisbane.
The 34-year-old kicked off the 2024 season on a positive note, securing a straight-set win over the 2020 Australian Open champion with a scoreline of 7-5, 7-6.

“Thank you so much. I felt a bit tired, and I was almost hoping for a third set,” she remarked. “I thought the match might stretch to three hours and 15 minutes, but it concluded in just two hours and 24 minutes, so maybe I’ll have to go for a run, I guess.
“Truly, I only won because of you guys [the fans]. I mean, thank you so much. But if you think I’m going to split my prize money with you, it’s not happening.”
