Aubrey Huff departs from social media after intense battle with DeLuca.

Former MLB player Aubrey Huff has decided to step away from social media at the beginning of 2024. The two-time World Series champion, who retired in 2014, deactivated his X account after being criticized by 23-year-old right-wing political activist Isabella Maria DeLuca. DeLuca accused Huff of sending her an inappropriate message and later publicly demeaning her in a separate post.

The controversy unfolded as Huff commented on a reported disagreement between DeLuca and Rachel Wilson, also known as “Rach4Patriarchy” on X. Wilson had previously commented on DeLuca’s appearance in a video where she was baking a cake, posted in October. Huff referred to the situation as a “cat fight” between DeLuca and Wilson in a now-deleted X post, which was later shared as a screenshot on the platform.

Huff also tagged both DeLuca and Wilson in the post, highlighting elements such as a strong desire for attention, significant financial challenges, involvement in drama, an inflated sense of self-worth, and a noticeable absence of accountability.

That’s when DeLuca responded, saying, “Is that why you dm’ed me? Because of my ‘delusional self worth’ and ‘desperate need for attention’?” She posted a screenshot of a message she asserted came from Huff’s verified X account on December 25. The message read, “Hey beautiful, let’s collaborate over cocktails and bad decisions,” accompanied by a winking face emoji. It’s worth noting that the alleged post from Huff has since been deleted.

In her post, DeLuca questioned, “This you?” while pointing to the alleged message from Huff. When attempting to search for Huff’s X account, @aubrey_huff, it was reported as “doesn’t exist.” In another post, DeLuca stated that she “never responded” to Huff’s message and raised questions about whether her lack of response led to her being unfollowed and subsequently attacked. She wondered if the reason behind the attack was her refusal to partake in making “bad decisions” with him on Christmas morning.

DeLuca further disclosed a screenshot of Huff’s bio on MLB.com, revealing that he was married to Barbara Heaton on January 27, 2007, and they have two sons, Jayce (15) and Jagger (13). Despite this information, the 47-year-old Huff and Heaton reportedly divorced in 2017.

“Oh! I know why you deleted it!” DeLuca remarked. “You’re married!” She pointed out that Huff had deleted his entire X account, including the initial post. DeLuca, with 121,000 followers on Instagram, had set her account to private as of Wednesday. On X, where she has 325,700 followers, her account remains public.
