Update on Buccaneers Injuries: Which Players Listed as Questionable are Expected to Participate?
Buccaneers Injury Status Report: Anticipated Participation for Players Designated as Questionable
Given the high stakes in today’s game, the Bucs’ injury update on Sunday holds paramount importance. Six players were listed as questionable on Friday, including quarterback Baker Mayfield (ribs), cornerback Carlton Davis III (concussion), wide receiver Rakim Jarrett (quadriceps), tight end Ko Kieft (shoulder), wide receiver Trey Palmer (hip), and inside linebacker K.J. Britt (calf).
Sunday Update For Bucs Injuries
On Saturday, there was a downgrade in the status of inside linebacker K.J. Britt, who is now listed as doubtful. Additionally, outside linebacker Cam Gill was added to the injury list as questionable due to a knee injury.
Buccaneers sources informed Pewter Report on Sunday morning that every player on the injury list would be a true game-time decision at the stadium based on pre-game workouts. However, Baker Mayfield, Carlton Davis, Ko Kieft, and Rakim Jarrett are deemed the most likely to play, given that they were all full participants in Friday’s practice. Jarrett, who was activated from injured reserve on Friday, led the team to waive defensive tackle Deadrin Senat.
Mayfield, who showed progress with his rib injury throughout the week, is set to start the game. Backup quarterback Kyle Trask is prepared in case of injury or ineffectiveness, having taken extra reps in practice this week.
Due to his downgrade on Saturday, Britt is considered the least likely to be available for Sunday’s game in Carolina.
The Bucs have listed reserve defensive tackle Mike Greene as out with a calf injury, despite him being a full participant in practice all week. If the Buccaneers secure a win and clinch the division on Sunday, and Greene is to play in the playoffs, the team would need to make a roster move to clear a spot for his return from injured reserve on the 53-man roster.
