Toronto Blue Jays All-Star slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has expanded his endorsement portfolio with a multi-year deal with sports drink brand BodyArmor. The signing coincides with BodyArmor’s first international product rollout, making its product available across all of Canada. Guerrero, aged 24, now joins a star-studded roster of BodyArmor athletes, including Ronald Acuña Jr., Donovan Mitchell, Trae Young, Sabrina Ionescu, Alex Morgan, Christian McCaffrey, and CeeDee Lamb.

Guerrero, speaking through a translator, expressed his increased awareness of nutrition over the last 2-3 years and sees BodyArmor as a better-for-you alternative to other sports drinks on the market. The brand, acquired by Coca-Cola in November 2021 at a $5.6 billion valuation, had a significant impact on Guerrero’s decision to join, given the presence of admired figures like Kobe Bryant and Ronald Acuña.

Reflecting on the 2023 MLB season, which saw rule changes like the pitch clock and the elimination of the shift, Guerrero acknowledged the need to adapt quickly. Despite a comparatively down year in terms of home runs at Rogers Centre, he secured an All-Star spot, won the Home Run Derby in Seattle, and led the Blue Jays to the playoffs.

In his endorsement portfolio, which already includes deals with Wilson, Jordan Brand, and Topps, Guerrero shared his admiration for Michael Jordan and his qualities as a mentor and leader. Guerrero, who learned from his Hall of Fame father throughout his career, emphasized the family legacy. His younger brother, Pablo, is a 17-year-old outfield prospect in the Texas Rangers organization, while another brother, Vladi Miguel, is expected to sign with the New York Mets. Guerrero expressed his commitment to upholding his father’s legacy and making his brothers proud along the way. Despite differing games and skill sets, the common thread among the Guerrero brothers is the natural, powerful swing inherited from their father.

Less than six weeks away from Spring Training, Guerrero is diligently working to enhance his performance and strive for the Toronto Blue Jays’ first World Series title in 31 years. According to Spotrac, Vladdy is projected to earn $19 million in arbitration for the 2024 season, marking his second-to-last arbitration year before entering free agency after 2025.

Embracing his customary routine, which involves the musical accompaniment of rapper and close friend Eladio Carrion, Guerrero expresses enthusiasm about incorporating BodyArmor into his daily baseball rituals.
