The Ohio State Buckeyes Receive Boost as junior running back Announces Return for Senior Season
TreVeyon Henderson has opted against entering the 2024 NFL Draft and has chosen to return to the Ohio State Buckeyes for his senior season.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have recently received what could be considered the most positive news of the offseason as junior running back TreVeyon Henderson declared on Friday his decision to come back for his senior season.

Henderson has been a crucial contributor to the Buckeyes’ offense over the past three seasons. After an impressive start to his Ohio State career with 1,248 yards in 2021, the Hopewell, Virginia native faced challenges with injuries during his sophomore year.
In the most recent season, the former five-star recruit rebounded, accumulating nearly 930 yards and scoring 11 touchdowns while sharing playing time with running backs Miyan Williams and Chip Trayanum. However, both Williams and Trayanum left Ohio State last month. Williams declared for the 2024 NFL Draft in December, joining other departing Buckeyes like defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr., linebacker Steele Chambers, and Josh Proctor.
Trayanum, on the other hand, entered the transfer portal and committed to the Kentucky Wildcats. Junior running back Evan Pryor also chose a different path, committing to the Cincinnati Bearcats shortly after Trayanum’s decision. As the offseason began, it seemed that Dallan Hayden might be the only Buckeye running back with previous game experience remaining on the roster.
However, Ohio State quickly rebounded, securing a commitment from Ole Miss transfer running back Quinshon Judkins on January 8 and retaining Henderson. This solidifies one of the nation’s most formidable one-two punches at the running back position. With senior quarterback Will Howard leading the team, Ohio State is poised to recover from its losses and assemble a competitive squad with aspirations for a national championship.
