MI At Wanderers Stadium, Cape Town’s commanding performance—led by a century from Rassie van der Dussen and a century from Ryan Rickelton—was enough to secure a decisive 98-run victory over the Johannesburg Super Kings.
MI Cape Town chose to bat first and scored 243-5, taking advantage of some bad bowling and a short boundary.
With Rickelton’s assistance and Van der Dussen’s 104 off 50 balls, they put together a strong opening partnership of 200 runs in 15.3 overs. The Super Kings were bowled out for 145 in 17.5 overs thanks to George Linde’s outstanding 4-25-2.
It became costly for the Super Kings to field three spinners, especially when Zahir Khan cost them thirty runs in two overs. In the Power Play, the Super Kings lost four wickets in spite of Leus du Plooy’s efforts.

In another event, Sunrisers Eastern Cape was haunted by Jon Jon Smuts’ outstanding all-around performance at St George’s Park, which resulted in an exciting Betway SA20 match.
After being traded for Simon Harmer to Durban’s Super Giants in the off-season, Smuts showed off his skill by hitting a scorching 75 off just 38 balls, leading the visitors to a commanding 225/3. Harmer, on the other hand, had a difficult time, giving up 53 runs in three overs with an economy of 17.66.
Quickfire 43 from Matthew Breetzke set the tone for Smuts. Nicholas Pooran contributed to the momentum by hammering a quick half-century (60 off 31), adding to the attack.
Smuts’ all-around mastery, which included getting rid of important players like Markram and Jansen, ensured DSG’s triumph despite Tom Abell’s tenacious 65. This was DSG’s second consecutive victory in Season 2.
