Primary prospect Jontae Gilbert expresses enthusiasm about the recent visit to Georgia and praises the new hires in the defensive back department.

During a recent junior day visit to Georgia, Jontae Gilbert found himself in the defensive recruiting meeting room along with other prospects. The visit was already considered a success for the Bulldogs when, in the middle of the meeting, news broke about the hiring changes. Travaris Robinson was announced as the co-defensive coordinator and safety coach, with Will Muschamp transitioning into an off-field analyst role.

This unexpected development provided an opportunity for Glenn Schumann to address everyone and discuss the coaching staff changes. Gilbert was particularly impressed with how Georgia handled the situation.

“All the defensive recruits were in a defensive meeting when that happened. So Coach Schumann got to talk about all that and what’s going to happen with T-Rob and Coach Muschamp. I love all those guys in the secondary. Coach T-Rob, with whom I’ve got a really good relationship,. It’s good to have them all there,” Gilbert shared with Dawgs247. “It was really shocking, but it was great news too.”
