Inside Tyrone Munro’s rapid rise…

Tyrone Munro’s life has undergone significant changes since his NRL debut for the Rabbitohs, yet one aspect remains constant: his nightly responsibility of doing the dishes, as enforced by his mother.

The 20-year-old emerging talent recently shared his reflections on the whirlwind of experiences in 2023 during an interview with FoxSports.com. au. Munro discussed his rapid progression, playing in the SG Ball, Jersey Flegg, New South Wales Cup, and NRL.

Tyrone Munro’s journey becomes even more remarkable considering that he spent six weeks sidelined at the beginning of the previous season due to a fractured collarbone. Unfortunately, fate has dealt another blow to Munro, with the young winger currently recovering from an ankle injury.

During the Rabbitohs’ pre-season camp earlier this month, Munro suffered ligament damage in his ankle, leading to his expected absence from the trials. However, he is anticipated to be fully recovered in time for the club’s historic Round 1 clash with Manly in Las Vegas.

Despite these setbacks, Munro, a proud Moree product and avid Rabbitohs fan who idolized Greg Inglis, is beginning to experience the spotlight. Reflecting on a recent encounter where he was approached for a photo and autograph, Munro expressed how fulfilling it is to fulfill the dreams of fans, reminiscing about being one of those excited kids.

With only three games into what is predicted to be a promising career, Munro acknowledges the significant impact these experiences have had on him. Transitioning from playing in the Cup to the NRL, he emphasizes how life can change within the span of 80 minutes on the field.

Munro made a memorable debut in Round 18 against the Warriors at Go Media Stadium, contributing with a try and a try assist. Recalling the nerves and excitement of that moment, he vividly remembers thinking, “I’m about to play NRL,” and the confidence boost he gained after scoring a try.

Expressing surprise at his achievements, Munro admitted, “I never thought I would’ve done that,” referring to his debut season. Initially setting modest goals of playing one or maybe two games in the Cup, he emphasized the importance of taking each step deliberately, adapting to the challenges, and seizing the opportunities that came his way.
