Cincinnati, Ohio (AP) – As terms of his contract with the Cincinnati Reds, Brent Suter can make up to $6.2 million over two seasons. The 34-year-old left-hander is guaranteed $3 million.
In addition to Gallo’s $2.5 million salary, the agreement calls for a $8 million mutual option with a $2 million buyout that would become payable by January 15 of next year. This year, he is eligible to get $1 million in performance bonuses ($200,000 for each of the 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 plate appearances).
Cincinnati native Suter finished 4-3 with a 3.33 ERA for Colorado in the previous season, walking 25 and striking out 55 in 69 1/3 innings pitched. Suter is 40–22 with a 3.49 ERA in 212 relief appearances and 41 starts for the Rockies and Milwaukee (2016–22).
Suter, a former Moeller star, makes an appearance at Reds Caravan in Hamilton and says, “It still doesn’t feel real.”
