“Mel Kiper’s 2024 NFL Mock Draft: Texas Talent Takes Center Stage with Adonai Mitchell Projected to Boost Buffalo Bills’ Offense”
Mel Kiper’s first ESPN 2024 NFL mock draft Round 1 predictions focus on Texas. He mentioned two players, but ultimately selected one as a first-round pick.
Adonai Mitchell, a wide receiver, is projected by Kiper to go to the Buffalo Bills at No. 28. After watching Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen averaging 4.8 yards per attempt in a playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs at home, he decided to go with Mitchell.
According to Kiper, “his receivers struggled to get open and, once they did, didn’t make enough plays after the catch.” “General manager Brandon Beane has identified a valuable pass-catcher in this individual.”
“The 6-foot-4 Mitchell broke out after transferring from Georgia, catching 55 passes for 845 yards and 11 scores for the Longhorns in 2023,” the author believes that should have been the former Longhorn. He was most effective when he was crossing routes and used his bulk and speed to get away from opponents. His hands are really good.

At No. 28, Kiper had originally planned to select a different player, but he was still a Longhorn.
“With this pick, I made a late change,” he wrote. “… The role that I nearly chose? T’Vondre Sweat (Texas) could be a fantastic match in the center of the Buffalo defense, so nose tackle.
