Muhammad Amir, Rejecting Any Possibility of Pakistani comeback
Mohammed Amir, a former fast bowler for Pakistan, recently discussed his plans for the future in international cricket and ruled out any imminent prospects of rejoining the national squad.
In an attempt to salvage his damaged reputation following the spot-fixing controversy, Amir returned to Pakistan in 2015. He continued where he left off, casting many powerful spells. The greatest moment of Amir’s career was undoubtedly his brilliant performance against India for the Champions Trophy.
But after Pakistan underwent a coaching staff change a year later, things deteriorated. Amir claimed he was the victim of mental harassment and discrimination when Waqar Younis and Misbah-Ul-Haq took charge.
Furthermore, the fast bowlers asserted that the new management was attempting to damage his reputation. In 2020, Amir announced his retirement from international cricket and relocated to the UK in search of better chances.
Will Amir Ever Wear Pakistani Flags?
Mohammed Amir, who plays for Desert Vipers in the International League T20 2024 (ILT20 2024), nonetheless, spoke openly about his plans for the international circuit.
According to Amir, he has moved on and changed his priorities in life. It’s also hard to understand the three-year break from the international system.
Amir also brought up the dynamically shifting nature of Pakistani cricket. According to him, there are now major changes to the PCB management virtually every month. Therefore, it is not possible for him to return in current conditions.
Mohammed Amir did, however, leave the door open for later.
Having said that, Amir was claimed to have applied for UK citizenship and was expected to play in the IPL. That front hasn’t advanced, though, as Amir is still available for hire in numerous franchise leagues. On TV shows, he occasionally travels to Pakistan as well.
