Jalen Milroe Reflects on Choosing Alabama Over Texas as Longhorns Prepare for SEC Transition
Alabama’s quarterback, Jalen Milroe, recently addressed his decision not to play for Texas. Milroe, who will be a redshirt junior when the Texas Longhorns transition to the SEC this summer, shared his perspective.
In a statement reported by On3, Milroe expressed admiration for the Texas program, acknowledging, “They have a great program, and Coach Sark is doing a fantastic job with that team. As a native Texan, I grew up watching that school.”
However, Milroe emphasized his deliberate choice to attend Alabama instead of Texas, stating, “It was part of my plan to come here to Alabama, not to go to Texas.” He underscored the importance of seizing the opportunity presented at Alabama and making the most of it, while acknowledging the positive trajectory of the Texas program.
