Before their upcoming games, the Lakers suffered yet another new injury.
Given that Golden State has a weak defense and that players like Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in particular are no longer the defensive players they once were, your Los Angeles Lakers have some favorable matchups offensively when they play the Golden State Warriors today.
However, Draymond Green continues to be valuable on that end of the court because he is a versatile defender who can cover both Anthony Davis and LeBron James.
Although he has recently been playing off the bench, Jovan Buha of The Athletic has provided the following information on the subject:
Draymond is back to being able to start, according to Warriors coach Steve Kerr, but he hasn’t said whether or not we’ll see that tonight.
Expect a lot of him whether or not he starts, though, as he’s their best defensive option against Davis and James’ two-man combination.
Green played 31 minutes in their most recent game, a defeat to the Sacramento Kings. This is significantly more than the 20 minutes and 16 minutes he played as starters Dario Saric and Kevon Looney, respectively. It appears that Green’s decision to come off the bench isn’t having a significant effect on his playing time, the team’s rotations, etc.
