Hershey and the Washington Capitals have extended their partnership through the 2029-30 season. Washington’s president and general manager, Brian MacLellan, revealed the six-year extension on Monday.

Since the 2005-06 season, the Bears have served as the Capitals’ American Hockey League affiliate, following a previous affiliation from 1977-84. With the Bears claiming the Calder Cup in 2022-23, they have secured four titles during their partnership with Washington. Notably, Hershey boasts a franchise-record 12 Calder Cup victories in its history.

“Our enduring collaboration with the Capitals has demonstrated a successful blueprint for fostering a culture of triumph and nurturing player development,” stated Bryan Helmer, Hershey’s vice president of hockey operations. This season, Hershey boasts the top record in the AHL, currently standing at 34-7-0-2.
