The Wests Tigers appear to be Dangerous…

The Wests Tigers are gearing up to field one of the NRL’s youngest teams in the upcoming season, presenting a wealth of potential cash cow options in Fantasy. Notably, players like Justin Matamua (EDG), Tallyn Da Silva (HOK), and Latu Fainu (HLF) are priced under $300k, with strong chances of securing spots in the starting 17 at some point during the season. Solomon Alaimalo (WFB), known for his powerful playing style, might also make a Fantasy impact.

The team, led by Benji Marshall, boasts two standout EDG players, John Bateman and Isaiah Papali’i, both priced below $800k. Bateman, in particular, is highlighted for his solid defensive performance last season and potential attacking contributions. He is considered a strong option at $740k, providing an alternative to higher-priced players like David Fifita or J’maine Hopgood in the EDG position.

Bateman haunts the old club

A player to watch for potential Fantasy gains is Latu Fainu, who has signed a four-year deal. Although likely to start at a basement price and not a consistent fixture in the best 17, Fainu’s scoring ceiling suggests he could be a lucrative investment, similar to Isaiya Katoa’s impact at the Dolphins last season.

In terms of the schedule, Wests Tigers face bye rounds in Round 1, 13, and 26. Starting the season on a bye might deter Fantasy owners from initially selecting Wests Tigers players. However, they play consistently until Round 13, where they join the seven teams with a bye. The final bye in Round 26 could be challenging for head-to-head leagues, coinciding with many leagues’ preliminary or grand finals.
