Lewis Hamilton does not want to follow in the footsteps of fellow Formula One great Michael Schumacher by clinching a 2025 transfer to Ferrari.
Ralf, the brother of Schumacher, feels Hamilton is “extremely unfortunate” for not having won the World Championship eight times in his career.
After reaching a multi-year agreement with the Scuderia, Hamilton declared on Thursday that he will depart Mercedes at the conclusion of the 2024 season to join Charles Leclerc at Ferrari.

Many drivers aspire to race for the renowned Scuderia, and the British star has spent the most of his career battling directly against Ferrari.
Schumacher began a reign of domination at the turn of the century and went on to win five of his seven World Championships with Ferrari in quick succession.
Following his 2006 retirement, Schumacher made a comeback to the Formula One scene in 2010 with Mercedes, where he was eventually replaced by Hamilton at the conclusion of the 2012 campaign.

Ralf Schumacher, the brother of Michael Schumacher, who won six victories in a remarkable Formula One career from 1997 to 2007, expressed his opinion on Sky Sports News that Hamilton wants to join the most revered team in sports to cap off his great career.
When asked if Hamilton may be trying to reach the same success as his brother, Schumacher responded, “That might be one thing, for whatever reason.” It could be his dream, but I haven’t talked to him about it.
“It’s not because of Michael, I believe he’s doing that; rather, I believe it’s because Ferrari is one of the greatest places to be in Formula 1 history, particularly for a driver like Lewis who, to be honest, accomplished virtually everything and was really unfortunate not to be an eight-time World Champion.
Therefore, I believe that all that needs to be flawless for him is the dot on the “i.”
Lewis could find it wise to pursue another endeavor in life, in my opinion. I understand; this will just be his third team.
“I believe he would like to do that. Some drivers really love to end their careers or win with Ferrari.”
Schumacher’s remarks are a just few weeks after he publicly questioned Leclerc’s and Carlos Sainz’s capacity to break Ferrari’s arduous World Championship drought. Hamilton will take over as Ferrari’s driver.
