Oregon Ducks Secure Commitment from Top Wide Receiver Prospect Gatlin Bair for Class of 2024
The Oregon Ducks have secured the commitment of one of the top wide receiver prospects in the Class of 2024.
Gatlin Bair, who has been awarded a five-star rating by 247Sports and is recognized as the highest-rated recruit ever hailing from Idaho according to the site’s metrics, announced on Saturday his decision to join the Ducks in Eugene. However, Dan Lanning and his staff will need to exercise patience before integrating Bair into the team, as he is embarking on a two-year LDS mission and plans to commence his college football career in 2026.
Standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 194 pounds, Bair stands out as one of the swiftest athletes in the 2024 recruiting class, boasting an impressive 10.15-second timing in the 100-meter dash. Hailing from Burley, Idaho, this All-American wide receiver had previously committed to Boise State before retracting his commitment in December. Bair has expressed interest in potentially participating in track and field at the collegiate level as well, a possibility he may explore upon his arrival in Eugene.
Expressing his enthusiasm for joining Oregon, Bair conveyed his admiration for Coach Dan Lanning and his vision for the program. He highlighted Lanning’s ambition and the program’s trajectory towards competitiveness in the Big Ten and championship contention. Additionally, Bair praised Junior Adams, the team’s receivers coach, for his adeptness in developing players, and expressed eagerness to contribute to an offense that appeals to any receiver.
