LSU Football recruits numerous newcomers during the offseason.

During the offseason, the LSU football staff dedicated significant efforts to revamping the roster, making notable additions both from the Transfer Portal and through high school signings. This overhaul has been particularly impressive over the past couple of months, leading to a revamped roster set for the upcoming spring. Additionally, preparations are underway to welcome several 2024 signees to campus during the summer.

On National Signing Day, LSU secured the commitment of Dominick McKinley, the top player in Louisiana. McKinley, a talented defensive tackle hailing from Lafayette, stands at 6 feet 5 inches and weighs 273 pounds. He enters the program with an impressive pedigree, earning a consensus 5-star rating and ranking as the No. 13 overall player nationally in the On3 composite. Notably, he is also ranked as high as No. 12 overall by Rivals.com and is regarded as the No. 3 player at his position.

McKinley showcased his skills at Acadiana High School, where he played a pivotal role in leading the Rams to the Division I Select State Championship Game in 2023. His standout performances earned him recognition as a First-Team 5A All-State player during his senior year, amassing impressive statistics including 71 tackles, 15 quarterback hurries, and 11 tackles for loss. Moreover, McKinley’s junior year saw him accumulate 86 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks, further solidifying his status as a top prospect. He was under the tutelage of head coach Matt McCullough during his time at Acadiana High School.
