Breaking News:Looking to snap their losing streak in the Sunshine State

The Washington Capitals are approaching a crucial stretch of play. As everyone is aware, they play the Florida Panthers at Capial One Arena tonight. But there’s also fear on the horizon. The catchphrase? A single game at a time.

Let me start with the uninteresting part: the Caps are in second place in the Metropolitan Division. Tonight’s opponent is currently ranked second in the Atlantic. Additionally, this was the club who put an end to the Caps season in their final playoff game—which coincidentally took place on a Friday the 13th.

The next weekend is back-to-back. Once more! And on national television on ABC on Saturday at 3:30 p.m., it’s against the Boston Bruins. With the Presidents Trophy they won the previous year, they are now second in the league.

The Canucks, who lead the Pacific Division and the league overall, play the afternoon matinee on home ice this afternoon before you watch the Super Bowl on Sunday and choose to cheer for the 49ers, Chiefs, commercials, or a decent game. At your own risk, watch that one before the football game.

Then, the night before Valentine’s Day, we all have to prepare for the avalanche at home or get better for the following year. Furthermore, it doesn’t help that the Avs are the best team in both the Central and Western Conferences if you’re still single and prefer the Caps.

I detest having to deliver terrible news. It’s not enjoyable. On the 17th, it’s Montreal again, but we’re going to be traveling. And the Caps have now suffered two losses against them, including one at home on Tuesday night.

In the end, the fifth game against the Devils is scheduled for Tuesday, the 20th. They’ll be fresh off a competition at the Stadium.
