Recruited from the Bakersfield farm team out of necessity, given the absence of viable veteran alternatives after Jack Campbell’s disappointing performance at the start of the season, Pickard’s arrival lacked fanfare. There were no extravagant welcomes or media frenzy surrounding the 31-year-old goaltender when he arrived at Rogers Place on November 8th.
