Alabama safety posts ambiguous message regarding his future with the Chicago Bears.

Is the Chicago Bears possibly saying goodbye to a key defensive figure?

Eddie Jackson has been a consistent presence in the Bears’ defensive lineup since 2017.

Hailing from South Florida, Jackson was drafted by the Bears in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft after his college career at the University of Alabama. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2018 and 2019, and was named to the first-team NFL All-Pro in 2018.

Additionally, he holds a place on the list of the 100 Greatest Bears of All-Time. Over his 100-game career, the 30-year-old has tallied 459 total tackles, 10 forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, 15 interceptions, 44 pass breakups, and three defensive touchdowns.

In 2018, Jackson achieved a career-high in interceptions with six, and also set a career-high in pass breakups with 15. Recently, he posted a mysterious message titled “New Beginnings” to his social media followers on Thursday.

Many Bears fans interpret this message as a sign of Jackson departing from the team. Regarded as one of the top safeties in the NFL, it’s likely he seeks to join a Super Bowl contender. Jackson joined the Crimson Tide in the 2013 recruiting class from Boyd Anderson High School.

He earned first-team All-SEC honors in 2015 after recording six interceptions, contributing to the defense’s success in securing a Southeastern Conference Championship and a College Football Playoff National Championship.

Throughout his tenure with the Tide, Jackson amassed three SEC Championships (2014-2016).
