Pickett isn’t just a standout within his position; he’s regarded as one of the premier players overall. According to the 247 Sports Composite rankings, he holds the impressive title of being the country’s eighth-best player and the third-ranked cornerback in his cohort. Standing at 6’4″, Pickett possesses exceptional size, complemented by remarkable speed, evidenced by his sub-11 second 100-meter dash time.
Alongside Oregon, Pickett has expressed interest in schools like the Georgia Bulldogs and the Miami Hurricanes. Hailing from Zephyrhills, Florida, in close proximity to Orlando, Miami and Georgia present appealing options for Pickett, allowing him to remain near his hometown. Additionally, Georgia’s reputation for producing top-tier defensive back talent adds to its allure for Pickett.
Should Pickett choose to join the Ducks, he could make an immediate impact on the team. With key departures expected after the upcoming season, including Tysheem Johnson and Kobe Savage at safety, as well as Jabbar Muhammad and Kam Alexander at cornerback, Pickett would likely find ample opportunities for playing time as a freshman.
