Breaking news: Red Sox strike deal is done.

The Boston Red Sox are adding Lucas Luetge, a former pitcher for the New York Yankees, to strengthen their bullpen. Luetge announced the news personally on both his Twitter and Instagram profiles, sharing a picture of the Red Sox emblem along with a caption conveying his enthusiasm for joining the team.

Luetge experienced a persistent bicep injury that restricted the 36-year-old to only 12 games during his single season with the Atlanta Braves last year. Consequently, he struggled with a high 7.24 ERA and a 1.76 WHIP across a mere 13.2 innings pitched.

In contrast, his performance in the two seasons prior with the New York Yankees showcased a different story. During this time, the left-handed pitcher excelled with a 2.71 ERA and 1.25 WHIP.

Throughout his tenure with the Yankees from 2021 to 2022, Luetge demonstrated his prowess by striking out 138 batters across 129.2 innings pitched.

Drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 21st round of the 2008 MLB Draft, Luetge spent most of his career in the minor leagues. However, after a hiatus from the majors in 2015, he found a resurgence in his late thirties.
