Maple Leafs Update: Goaltender Joseph Woll Nears Return After Injury; Injury and Suspension Updates for Key Players
On Monday, goaltender Joseph Woll took a significant step closer to returning to the Maple Leafs lineup after being sidelined since December 7th with a high ankle sprain. Participating fully in practice for the first time since the injury, Woll’s performance was observed closely by Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe, who remarked, “It looks like he got through it well. It was an important step and a positive development.”
While there is no definitive date for Woll’s return to game action, his progress is encouraging.
Joining Woll on the ice were centre David Kampf and defenseman Mark Giordano, both recovering from injuries. Kampf, out since January 27th, and Giordano, who missed the Ottawa game due to a lower-body injury, are hopeful to play against St. Louis on Tuesday pending medical clearance.
Unfortunately, defenseman Conor Timmins, who has been battling illness, had an appointment on Monday and will not be available for the game against the Blues. Updates on his status are expected on Tuesday.
Max Lajoie was observed skating alongside Morgan Rielly, who is facing a suspension, suggesting that Lajoie may not be included in the lineup for the upcoming game.
