Oregon Receiver Troy Franklin and Center Jackson Powers-Johnson: USA TODAY’s Insights on Their Potential NFL Draft Destinations
It’s as if the Kansas City Chiefs are stacking their arsenal with yet another weapon.
As per the latest USA TODAY mock NFL draft, Oregon receiver Troy Franklin is projected to seamlessly integrate with the two-time defending Super Bowl champions.
According to writer Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz, Franklin would be the final pick of the first round come April, with the following analysis:
“At 6-3, 180 pounds, Franklin may not possess the reliable hands one might anticipate Kansas City targeting after a season marked by miscues from its receiving corps,” he stated. “However, his exceptional deep speed and ability to gain yards after the catch would inject crucial explosiveness into a passing offense that has grown stagnant.”
While this passing offense wasn’t stagnant enough to prevent another Super Bowl victory, speculation immediately ensued post-game that the Chiefs might be poised for an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl triumph.
Middlehurst-Schwartz also forecasted that Oregon center Jackson Powers-Johnson would be selected in the middle of the first round, landing at No. 21 with the Miami Dolphins.
“Having been a unanimous All-American this past season, Powers-Johnson showcased his skills at the Senior Bowl, staking a strong claim to being the first interior offensive lineman drafted,” he elaborated. “With a blend of toughness and polish, he epitomizes the type of player that Mike McDaniel would desire to bolster this offense.”Heading: Oregon Receiver Troy Franklin and Center Jackson Powers-Johnson: USA TODAY’s Insights on Their Potential NFL Draft Destinations
