Key pitfalls Robbo must sidestep as Cronk reveals the winning formula – Roosters 2024 Analysis

Former NRL star Cooper Cronk believes that the Sydney Roosters have all the necessary components to win the premiership in 2024. However, he suggests that they need to change their approach in the early stages of the season after a slow start last year.

In 2023, the Roosters began as premiership favorites but stumbled with an unexpected loss to the Dolphins in Round 1. Despite having a solid defense, their attack struggled for much of the season, resulting in a disappointing record of seven wins and ten losses after 20 rounds.

Despite this, the Roosters managed to turn their season around with a five-game winning streak towards the end, securing a place in the top eight. While they fell short in the semi-finals against the Storm, their late-season surge showcased their potential.

Cronk, who won a premiership with the Roosters in 2019, believes that the team needs to focus on building momentum earlier in the season. He emphasizes the importance of the Roosters’ spine – consisting of Luke Keary, James Tedesco, and Sam Walker – working together effectively, especially considering their offensive struggles last year.

The addition of winger Dom Young and forward Spencer Leniu in the off-season has bolstered the team’s lineup. Cronk praises Leniu’s impact and believes that if the Roosters’ key players can improve their attacking potency, they have a genuine chance of winning the premiership.

Overall, Cronk believes that the Roosters have all the necessary ingredients to win the premiership, but their success will depend on their determination and execution on the field.
