The Guardians commenced spring training on Thursday under the guidance of their new manager, Stephen Vogt, with a larger contingent of players than usual.
While pitchers and catchers reported three days earlier, the mandatory arrival date for position players is not until February 18th.
Nevertheless, several position players have already shown up, evidently eager to prepare for the upcoming season.

At 39 years old, Vogt steps in for Terry Francona. He acknowledged that he is still familiarizing himself with everyone’s names and playing styles, emphasizing that decisions regarding the roster are far from finalized.
The Guardians‘ first spring game is scheduled for Saturday, February 24th, against Cincinnati.
Their season opener will take place on March 28th in Oakland.
