Auburn’s newly promoted defensive tackles coach, Vontrell King-Williams, will earn $500,000 per year under a new two-year contract starting in early February. The contract details were obtained by AL.com through a public records request. King-Williams was announced as the new defensive tackles coach on Feb.

9, following the departure of former defensive line coach Jeremy Garrett, who joined the Jacksonville Jaguars. King-Williams, previously an analyst for Auburn, will take over the defensive tackles, while Josh Aldridge, the former linebackers coach, will now coach the edge rushers.

The contract includes standard bonus structures and provides for a full buyout if King-Williams is terminated. If he leaves for another coaching position before the contract’s end date of Jan. 31, 2026, he will owe Auburn one year’s salary if he departs before the end of the 2024 season and $125,000 if he leaves before the end of the 2025 season. However, these amounts are waived if King-Williams accepts a head coach or play-calling coordinator position in college or any NFL job.
