Max Verstappen hinted at the possibility of joining Ferrari like Lewis Hamilton

Max Verstappen has emphasized that he isn’t currently considering a move to Ferrari akin to Lewis Hamilton’s decision, but he did suggest that in Formula 1, you can’t completely rule out any possibilities.

Hamilton’s announcement of his switch to Ferrari after the 2024 season marked a significant shift in the F1 landscape, ending his longstanding partnership with Mercedes,

which had been the most successful team-driver alliance in F1 history. Despite Hamilton’s remarkable success with Mercedes, including six of his seven World Championships, he hadn’t secured a win in two seasons and was notably dethroned by Verstappen in a contentious finale in Abu Dhabi in 2021.

Verstappen, on the other hand, has firmly established himself as a dominant force in recent years, claiming victory in 44 out of the last 66 races and securing a third consecutive title in 2023 with a record-breaking 19 wins.

While the allure of Ferrari is undeniable for many drivers, Verstappen has stated that he feels content in his current position at Red Bull and isn’t actively seeking a change. However, he didn’t completely dismiss the idea of potentially joining Ferrari in the future.

In the past, Verstappen was linked with a move to Ferrari in 2019, but the speculated seat swap with Sebastian Vettel didn’t materialize.

When asked about the possibility of joining Ferrari, Verstappen expressed his respect for the brand but emphasized his satisfaction with his current situation. He acknowledged that in life and Formula 1, one should never say never, but at the moment, it’s not a consideration for him.

Verstappen has previously hinted at retiring at a young age, but he admitted that if he continues to have access to a competitive car, it would be challenging to walk away from the sport. He pointed out the demanding travel schedule and commitments outside of racing as potential factors that could influence his decision to retire.

Ultimately, Verstappen’s focus remains on Formula 1, but he also harbors aspirations beyond the sport and acknowledges that life may lead him in different directions in the future.
