Departures and Transfers: Michigan Football’s Roster Changes and Jerome Nichols’ Move to Florida A&M
Michigan football has succeeded in retaining much of its roster despite the coaching changes this offseason, but there have been some departures. Among these, the decision of safety Keon Saab to transfer has hit Wolverines fans hard, while others have gone relatively unnoticed.
Jerome Nichols may not be a familiar name to most maize and blue supporters, but the four-year linebacker who joined the team as a walk-on in Ann Arbor had a limited role, primarily on special teams, throughout his time at Michigan. Despite being a native of Michigan, he has opted to seek opportunities elsewhere.
Recently, Nichols announced his decision to continue his football career at Florida A&M.

During his four years at Michigan, Nichols saw action in only two games, totaling just 11 snaps on the field. In the 2023 season, he recorded two tackles, both on special teams, during his seven snaps against Indiana.
As a native of Belleville, Michigan, Nichols now looks forward to a fresh start and the opportunity to showcase his skills at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).
