setting personal bests in goals (14), assists (36), and points (50) while earning a modest $3.9 million. If he continues on this trajectory, he could easily double his salary and more.

Bouchard’s strong performance has positioned him as the fifth-highest-scoring defenseman in the league, behind only Quinn Hughes, Cale Makar, Noah Dobson, and Victor Hedman. With arbitration rights and the potential for a deep playoff run, his value is likely to increase further.

The timing of Bouchard’s contract expiration aligning with Leon Draisaitl’s could present a financial challenge for the Oilers. However, for now, they are benefiting from his stellar play, especially considering his early-season struggles.
