Edmonton Elks Sign American Defensive Back Brian Hughes Jr.
The Edmonton Elks announced on Tuesday that they have inked a deal with American defensive back Brian Hughes Jr.
Hughes Jr., who hails from Richmond Hill, Georgia, concluded his collegiate career at Bethel University TN in 2023, earning Second Team All Mid-South Conference accolades. During his final season with the Wildcats, he tallied 84 total tackles, 6.5 tackles-for-loss, one interception, and two pass deflections in thirteen games.
Before his tenure at Bethel University, Hughes Jr. played for Kentucky Christian University in 2022, appearing in 11 games and notching 57 total tackles, one sack, and two interceptions.
The Edmonton Elks, a member of the Canadian Football League, call Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Alberta, their home ground.
