Chaney Johnson’s comments before the Auburn-Georgia game

The No. 14 are set to play against the Georgia Bulldogs on the road tomorrow.

Chaney Johnson, a forward for Auburn, discussed the team’s perspective on the bye week, highlighting its refreshing nature. He mentioned the contrast in intensity and attention to detail compared to his experience in Division II basketball. The bye week allowed them to focus solely on the upcoming Georgia game, unlike their usual schedule of frequent games.

Regarding his increased role due to Jaylin Williams’ injury, Johnson emphasized his desire to improve for the team’s benefit. He clarified that his focus on improvement was not solely because of the injury but rather a personal commitment to perform better, especially after feeling he didn’t impact the previous game as desired.

Johnson also expressed his motivation to finish the regular season strongly, driven by a desire to have no regrets after his basketball career. He credited his teammates for pushing him to elevate his game and recognized the difference in intensity between Division II and Division I basketball, motivating him to work even harder.

The game is scheduled to tip off at 5 p.m. CT and can be watched on SEC Network or streamed on the Auburn Athletics app through the Auburn Sports Network broadcast.
