The power gun is firing, which bodes well for the Crows in what promises to be a closely contested match.
PORT ADELAIDE midfielder Jason Horne-Francis showcased the benefits of an exceptional pre-season in a standout performance against Adelaide. The two South Australian rivals played to an exciting 14.9 (93) draw over four quarters at Alberton on Friday night.
Horne-Francis demonstrated his trademark power in contests, coupled with excellent decision-making and agility. He worked well alongside superstar teammate Zak Butters and new captain Connor Rozee, both of whom exhibited their class.
However, the Power are awaiting news on explosive half-forward Sam Powell-Pepper’s availability for round one. Powell-Pepper’s high bump in the first quarter left Adelaide defender Mark Keane concussed. Keane was assisted off the field by trainers, and the Crows later confirmed his concussion, ruling him out of the upcoming practice match against West Coast.
