Hamilton Tiger-Cats Add Ray Wilborn and Michael Jacquet to Roster; Open 2024 Season Against Calgary Stampeders

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have secured the services of American linebacker Ray Wilborn and American defensive back Michael Jacquet.

Wilborn, who went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft, has had stints with five different teams including the Atlanta Falcons, Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, and New York Giants. He saw action in two regular season games with the Broncos in 2022, primarily contributing on special teams, playing 31 snaps.

Standing at six-foot-four and weighing 225 pounds, Wilborn showcased his skills during his collegiate career at Ball State University, where he played 24 games and tallied 166 total tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, three quarterback sacks, two forced fumbles, 12 pass knockdowns, and four interceptions. He initially began his college journey at Garden City Community College in Kansas.

Jacquet, another undrafted prospect from the 2020 NFL Draft, commenced his professional career with the Philadelphia Eagles, appearing in seven games with two starts. During his time with the Eagles, he amassed 18 total tackles, three pass knockdowns, one sack, and one forced fumble before being waived in October 2021.

Hailing from Beaumont, Texas, the 27-year-old defensive back has since had stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants, and Los Angeles Chargers. He earned recognition as second-team All-Sun Belt during his final collegiate season at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

The Tiger-Cats will kick off their 2024 regular season with an away game against the Calgary Stampeders at McMahon Stadium on Friday, June 7th.
